June 21, 2000:
The July 13th show at Kenny's Castaways will be a VERY SPECIAL EVENT! It's all very hush-hush, but
expect to see some special surprise ghosts... Um, I mean GUESTS, from STATIC 13's past. And
expect to hear some of your favorite songs from STATIC 13's early days...
February 15, 2000:
Just in case you were looking for another reason to return to the Static 13 site, I thought I would give you a few.
Pictures of Static 13 guitarist Mike Kull and bassist Tristan Kromer have been added on their bio pages. We are still
awaiting a picture of the mysterious Marcus Dorfman who has been pounding the skins for Static 13 the last few months.
Soon you will all see Marcus spread out in all his glory across his bio page. However I must apologize this is not a playgirl site so
he will be wearing clothes, well kinda, if you count a big green leaf around his pelvis clothes. You will also be able to read about him real soon as well on his bio page.
Ok now on for a more serious note, a minor change has been made to a few links on the site. Mainly on the radio page however you will find a link to a new band
on the links page as well. That's it for now. 2 updates in February, what more can you ask for!
February 8, 2000:
Finally the New Year has arrived and now there is finally updated news on this site. For those of you who have been wondering what is going on with Static 13, here you go.
In the later part of 1999, Ari David had been hired as a production coordinator/manager and was supposed to go on the road for 8 weeks with the Rolling Stone College Tour with artists such as
Everlast, Lo Fidelity All Stars and Moa. However that tour wound up getting cancelled and in the midst of all of that, there were no Static 13 shows booked as Ari planned to be out of town.
With that tour cancellation came Ari's return to the realm of the Static ones.
As the New Year rolled into town, so did Static 13 making their first NYC appearance for the New Year at CBGB's on January 6th.
This was the first time in a while that Static 13 played in NY. Ari, Mike, Tristan and Marcus put on a great show that night marking their return to the scene in a big way.
There was this fantastic reggae band straight from Jamaica (now living in NY), who played before Static 13 and after the show the 2 bands hooked up and you can look for them to
play some more shows together in the near future.
NOW FOR THE IMPORTANT NEWS!!!!! NEW STATIC 13 MATERIAL BEING RECORDED NOW!!
That's right fans and friends, Ari David has been very busy writing and recording with Producer/Writer Howie Beno, who is best known for his work with Ministry, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and Sister Soliel.
Demos hope to be completed by mid-March. New songs also include collaborations with Writer/Guitarist John McCurry (Billy Joel, Julian Lennon, Alice Cooper and many more) and Static 13 guitarist Mike Kull.
If you were at the show at CBGB's then you got a chance to hear some of the new tracks that night. If you like Static's older stuff, just wait until you catch the new stuff.
Wanna hear the new stuff before it's released then catch Static 13 live near you. Check the CONCERT CALENDAR for the next live dates in February.
There is also a new review we learned about on the Chaotic Critiques website. See CC #11 in the reviews archive.
Ari's outlook for 2000 is a good one so I hope you will all join us and make that outlook even brighter! See ya at the shows!
August 21, 1999:
I would like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the latest member of Static 13, Marcus Dorfman. Marcus is joining the band
on drums replacing Mike Westgate. There is no picture or bio for Marcus yet so if you want to get to know him head out to a Static 13 show in your area and go introduce yourself.
I am sure he would be quite happy to meet and talk with you. More news coming soon.

Two More Number Ones! Static 13's debut CD has charted at #1 on two more stations
this week, WJSV in Morristown, NJ and WSUW in Whitewater, WI.
STATIC 13 continues to extend its sphere of influence with shows
in North Carolina, and recent radio interviews in Montana, Wisconsin and New Mexico.
At the North Carolina show, The Mission, the band met all kinds of nice people,
like Kathryn, Kevin and Jeannie (hey, guys!) and also the legendary STRYKER!
Stryker is a prefessional wrestler who is going to adopt STATIC 13's "eye won't fool i"
as his theme song, and has been seen on television taking down his foes decked out
in a black STATIC 13 T-shirt!
STATIC 13 will be returning to SHARKEY's in Nashua, NH on Friday, December

Radio interviews on KBGA (Missoula, MT), WSUW (Whitewater, WI),
WRFW (River Falls, WI) and
KRUX (Los Cruces, NM) enabled fans to chat with the band and win free CDs
and stuff. Our thanks go out to all the DJs who helped us out, and to the fans
who called in. Popularity of STATIC 13's debut CD on these stations is high,
in fact, STATIC 13 has charted in the top 10 on each of these stations. See
the Charts page for more details.
STATIC 13 seeks bass-player! Last, but not least, STATIC 13 is in the process
of searching for a new bass-player as long time member Tony Low has decided
sadly, to hang up his bass guitar. The band already has no shortage of volunteers,
and already has good friend, Owen Yost filling in for the upcoming gigs. STATIC 13
is holding auditions but will be deciding on a new member soon. If interested,
email the band at STATIC13@Rockweb.com
or leave a message at (201)656-4883.

The recent shows in NH and Maine were tons of fun for the band,
and apparently for the fans as well. The band has several new friends,
including one lovely exotic dancer (Hi, Crystal) and several,
well... other interesting folks like Big Bob, Barbie, and the wild and
crazy Goss-man. The show at Sharky's in Nashua, NH is reviewed (along
with an interview with the band backstage) on Steve Rochlin's popular
Enjoy the Music page.
Also included are photos of the show and a rare live recording of one of the
band's new tunes 'Raindrops of Love' in fabulous RealAudio.
Another highlight of the trip was the radio interview/acoustic performance
at Colby College in Waterville. The band played a few tunes
live and even took requests from the audience (sorry, no Freebird). A
big thanks goes out to Tom and Dan at WMHB for making us feel at home
and to all our new fans at Colby College. With a little luck, we'll see
you again soon!

The CMJ Music Marathon gig was a raging success with over 300 screaming fans.
Thanks go out to everyone who helped make this a very special show. The club
liked STATIC 13 enough to invite the band back for an encore appearance in November.
So those who showed up a few minutes after the band finished playing last
time around get another chance! See the Shows page for details.
Remember, the lines are LONG so leave an extra twenty minutes or so to get in.
STATIC 13 is now being played on over 600 radio stations and has broken
into the Canadian market! The CD is also beginning to get 'Specialty Play' on several
large commercial stations. See the radio page for details on where
you can catch sounds of STATIC on your AM and FM dials.
STATIC 13 has begun recording new material with the eminently talented producer/engineer
(and good friend of the band) Josh Abbey. Rather than slam out the basic tracks for 9
songs in two days, then work on all the overdubs and mixdowns in future sessions (which is
how it went down on "eye won't fool i"), the band has chosen to focus on a single song
per studio session - recording the basic tracks, overdubs and doing the final mix all
in one session. Since the current album is doing well on radio and is only 3 months into
'official distribution' you shouldn't expect a second album in the near future, but
the creative juices are flowing, so the band is capturing these new ideas on tape. Record
labels, management companies and booking agents who are enticed by the debut CD and would
like to hear more material can contact the band via e-mail at

STATIC 13 went back into the studio this week ... to record a demo for a
Pepsi commercial! Apparently Pepsi is looking for something a little rougher and
harder-edged than your average jingle. It may be some time before the band

just to be nominated!"
